CCN: TMNT Secrets of the Sewers Exhibit: Interview

Hey everyone,

Welcome to a fresh Cowabunga Corner News.  This episode is covering the new Exhibit at The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis called “Nickelodeon’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles : Secrets of the Sewers”.  This exhibit brings you into the Turtles lair from the Nickelodeon series.  It has games, activities, trivia and awesome displays.  In this, I was allowed to interview Charity Counts, the person behind the “Secrets of the Sewers” exhibit!

Kodak Moment #36

I got hundreds to thousands of photos through my life.  A lot of which would match up to stories here on Cowabunga Corner, but for one reason or another they are not chosen.  This does not mean that these photos are not worth sharing and do not hold stories of their own.  I would like to keep sharing what I can here on the site, so whenever I can I will share a photo and a story to go along with the photo.  If it’s a part of events that has been shared here, we will link back to the stories of the events themselves as well.  Hope everyone enjoys.  Today’s photo is from a Greek Festival in the early 90’s.

Review "Secrets of the Sewers" at the Children's Museum of Indianapolis

Going into the Secrets of the SewersThis past Saturday Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles took over at the Children’s Museum of Indianapolis. That was the day that the “Secrets of the Sewers” Exhibit opened up to the public.  This is a large Exhibit full of games, props, and group activities.  Made to help families and friends learn to work together as a team while enjoying our fab four Turtles!  Here is my review of the “Secrets of the Sewers” Exhibit.

Nickelodeon's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles : Secrets of the Sewers

Preliminary concept digital models, Sewer Lair—Common Room.If there’s one place I truly enjoy seeing the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, it’s in Museums.  The first time I saw this was the Words & Pictures Museum, which remains my favorite Museum I’ve ever been too.  They even had an Exhibit for the Next Mutation, and Turtles were always on display there.  Since then I do look and have found TMNT in a few other museum settings, but nothing like what is happening this year as The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis has set up the “Nickelodeon’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles : Secrets of the Sewer” Exhibit!

ScareFest 2015 Convention Review

ScareFest is a convention in Lexington, KY for Paranormal and Horror fans.  2015 saw it’s eighth event, though it didn’t seem to be the powerhorse it has been in the last few years. In previous years, ScareFest had such a crowd that it was impossible to walk around inside the Lexington Convention Center, granted the space is not incredibly large, but it is fine for a small convention. Last year and the year before, I thought ScareFest had outgrew the convention center, though this year, it seemed to be the perfect size.

CCI 2015 Nickelodeon TMNT Panel

One of the events I look most forward to each year is the Nickelodeon Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Panel at San Diego Comic Con International.  They always share awesome character designs for the upcoming season, bring in the voice actors and producers and share lots of fun stuff.  These panels have been at Comic Con International since 2012.  This year they did something different, it is the first year that they brought in someone from outside of Nickelodeon to Moderate the panel having Andre from Black Nerd Comedy.  Here’s the panel and my review of the panel.

Review: Fandom Fest 2015

Leatherhead, Partners in Kryme, Michele, Fugitoid, Nick, Phoenix, Leif, Kenn, Judith and Robbie at Cowabunga Corner Booth for Fandom Fest 2015.Traveling to conventions around the country has become an art to the Cowabunga Corner crew.  From New York City to San Diego we have made our way to panels, autograph sessions and fan meet ups.  Though every now and then the Cowabunga Corner crew is asked to bring more than the normal fan would bring to a convention.  With the offer of booth space and panels, we’re brought in to work the convention to help share Ninja Turtles history and facts.  We just made an appearance in Louisville, KY at Fandom Fest.  A full booth of cool parts of Turtle history to share with the fandom and a

Comic Con International Hall H - Discrimination against Handicap people who walk

Being handicapped is difficult.  Some handicaps are obvious such as missing a limb, wheelchair bound, or using a service animal.  But there are less obvious handicaps: difficulty breathing, continuous pain, sudden onset pain and neurological problems to name a few.  Having a handicap makes life for that person just a little harder than for others.  And everyone with a handicap has their personal story to tell of why they are how they are, and what pain they manage in their lives.  This does not mean that handicap people do not deserve to live a normal life. It just means we need a little assistance.

Comic Con International 2015 : Weekend Review

Comic Con International is one of the biggest events of the year.  And every year this is one of those events that come with the good, the bad and the crazy.  From panels, shopping, autographs and meeting up with friends there’s never a dull moment at this event.  This here is the highlight review of the Comic Con 2015 weekend.  Following the panels that I went to, the booths that made the most memory for me and the friends that I met up with.  Following we will share some Comic Con Panels, some more detailed reports and even a major discrimination report about Comic Con.  Let’s start with the fun.
