Kodak Moments #3

I got hundreds to thousands of photos through my life.  A lot of which would match up to stories here on Cowabunga Corner, but for one reason or another they are not chosen.  This does not mean that these photos are not worth sharing and do not hold stories of their own.  I would like to keep sharing what I can here on the site, so whenever I can I will share a photo and a story to go along with the photo.  If it’s a part of events that have been shared here, we will link back to the stories of the events themselves as well.  Hope everyone enjoys.  Today’s photo is a shot of my Grandmother and me.

This was my senior pictures taken on October 17th, 1996.  You could have someone with you for these photos, and I chose my Grandma.  A very easy choice for me to make with how close she was to me through my life.  In this photo I am wearing a flower sticker on my dress, that sticker was from the Funeral home where shortly before these photos were taken my Grandfather died and I was a pallbearer.  I could never remove that flower out of respect of my Grandpa.  These were my mother’s folks and both of them still mean the world to me.

Today is my Grandma’s Birthday.  Even though she has not been with us for 10 years now, I still wish her a happy birthday wherever she is.  I know she watches over us, and that my family will always feel lucky that she is a part of it.

I do not wear dresses often, in fact I don’t like to wear a dress.  This is a very rare picture for me, as I much prefer jeans and t-shirts.  It was a new dress at the time, though I still have it.  It is put away with things of memories, with the flower still attached to the dress.

This is one of the family photos that people see if they go into our living room.  I miss my Grandma, though seeing these photos of her helps remind me that she is always with me in spirit and memories.  Thanks Grandma for being such a wonderful person!

Here’s a link to a story I did about my Grandma for her birthday a few years ago.  A Gift of Love, Remembering My Grandmother
