Random Collection Piece #3

Throughout the years of being a Ninja Turtle fan, my collection has been growing.  Every year I get something new that joins the collection.  Growing since 1989, I have over 500 Ninja Turtle toys out of package and over 300 in package, as well as books, animation cels, original comic art, scripts and so much more.  To cover all of this on Cowabunga Corner is not something I really think I can do.  Though I get a lot of questions about my collection, so I figured I could do random stories from time to time to share one item in my collection.

This Michaelangelo plush doll is an original piece from my collection.  I got him for Christmas in 1990 and have had him with me ever since.  He’s not a first release doll, as he’s a little bigger and does not have the poseable wires inside of him.   He is one of my favorite pieces in my collection since I have so many memories of him.

In 1997 I started to bring him to a few events, as friends would have their plush Turtles with him.  So for awhile in the mid 90’s, I carried him through conventions and other fan gatherings.  That year I also had him autographed by Kevin Eastman, I told Kevin the autograph would wear off and he said he’d sign it again.  In 1999 Peter Laird autographed the Michaelangelo plush as well.  Though both of the autographs did wear off, I had Kevin Eastman sign him in 2009 and that autograph is still clear to see now.

The original TMNT Plush dolls are some of my favorite things in my collection.  They’re not easy to find these days, and are way better than the ones they released in 2003.

Do you own any of the plush TMNT dolls?  If so tell us about yours in the comment section below!
