Review: TMNT Turtle Comm 2013

In the original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Cartoons the Turtles came up with a way to stay in touch with each other, known as the Turtle Com.

The Turtle Com was used throughout the entire original series.  Once the 2003 series started up Donatello made the Shell Cell, so once the Nickelodeon show began we knew something was going to arrive for the fans, in “Monkey Brains” we got the T-Phone.  And when the Turtles get new gadgets that are such a powerful impact on the show, we get a toy.  This video is my first reaction review to Playmates “Nickelodeon Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 'Turtle-Comm'”.

This toy is a cool one for looks, and for kids it’s got the a lot of phrases and games to be played.  The idea of calling the Turtles for a child is fun, and exciting.  The first Turtle Com toy that ever came out did not have voices at all, it has mores code, which I personally thought was the coolest thing ever as a child.  I remember trying to learn it with their little sheet of what meant what.  For me, that was the best Turtle Com to come to market.  Not to say I did not like the others as they all were great.  So I know now with a Turtle Comm that introduces each Turtle, each one doing something different with the kids, this has to be one of the coolest toys for them on the market.

My only complaint still stands that they did not get the original cartoon voices to do the Ninja Turtles for this toy.  I think it would've made the toy appeal more to the older fans who only buy certain items.  This choice has cost them some buyers as I know people who heard the voice on the toy and was discouraged from getting it.  This did not get me to turn from buying the toy as I’ve heard worse talking Turtle toys in my day, anyone remember the talking Turtles where you needed to slide the little red plastic thing through their shell to get them to talk?   Even with this one complaint, I recommend this toy.

Do you own the Turtle Comm?  What is your thoughts of the new voices?  Please leave reviews, comments and questions below!

Great review, but it is disappointing that they couldn't get the official voice actors. I'm sure kdis will have fun with it. By the way, what does Leo say?

Leonardo does talk, he brings people on missions with him and tells us where to kick and punch to help him defeat the Foot Clan.
