My Little Pony Friendship is Magic is a series that has taken the entertainment business by surprise.  It came in as what people saw only to be another reboot of a well known franchise.  Though they did such a great job on this new series that it brought in adult fans both male and female fans have come forward of all ages.  In November IDW picked up on this series by creating a comic book, written by Katie Cook and based off of the popular cartoon series.

As I’ve been reading the IDW comics, I keep getting more impressed with the new roads each of the characters are taking.  Recently, we’re getting so many issues back to back it’s amazing to see all of these comics still throwing surprises at us.  Today a new issue came to stand, it’s the last set of the eight Micro Series issues, and this time it’s about the Fugitoid.  I was wondering how they were going to throw him into the mix as we already had so much going on with the IDW comics.  Where could a new character come in and how will just pumping the story with characters help move the story along?

A year of stories have been building up to a big fight, Ninja Turtles vs. The Foot!  IDW Publishing has been keeping us on our toes with all these comics building more and more on the characters and stories.  Tom Waltz has been bringing us through this world building up the tension.  With Dan’s artwork flowing right through.  What a comic.  And here issue 12 is finally here bringing us a battle of good vs. evil.  Though this does not end the story, this is only the beginning.

IDW Publishing has been bringing us a handful of great comic books, this time it’s the IDW TMNT Micro Series. With a total of 8 in production, we’ve seen four of them so far and they’ve been great.  I’ve had the chance to review each of these comics as they came out.  There was the Raphael issue, which brought us signs of Bebop and Rocksteady.

This last month, I went to the World Steam Expo in Dearborn, Michigan.  This is a great event held yearly based around the fandom of Steam Punk with guests, panels, concerts and a great dealer room.  This is Cowabunga Corner's second year covering the World Steam Expo.  We arrived at the event on Friday and spent the full weekend floating around checking out different events and talking to many people.

For me, there’s not many movies out there that when the title is said their theme song gets stuck in my head.  Though this is one film where that is exactly what happens.  As soon as I hear the worlds “Men in Black”, all I can remember is that theme song that came out back in 1997.  It was so good and so cool that I will always remember that song and the original Men in Black movie lands right in that same area, very unforgettable film that stands out.  The sequel came out in 2002 and did not get as much love as the original film.

Over the years many different books, webpages, interviews and stories have come out based on the origin of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.  Everyone has their favorites, including myself.  In the early 1990’s, I use to pick up everything I could find of Ninja Turtles, to try and learn as much as I could about them.

Throughout Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle history one thing that we’ve seen a lot of is reprints of the early Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Mirage Comics.  First Publishing was the first ones to really take up the comics and start putting them together as graphic novels.

In this episode I share a time when a group of Ninja Turtle fans got to visit Mirage Studios. They were in town for the Words & Pictures Museum and got invited to see the studio.
