Youmacon 2016 TMNT Panel

Help get TMNT into the National Toy Hall of Fame!

In 1983 Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird created the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, they released these characters to the public in 1984 as a Comic Book.  The Turtles were a huge success through comic book fans, though for those not into the comic scene it was not heard of.  Things could’ve remained this way if Mark Freedman did not get into the picture and go to Playmates Toys for the action figure line.  Playmates Toys loved this story so much that they funded the first five episodes of the original cartoon series.  Making the Toys one of the major backbones behind the Turtles which helped many of us fans learn their story.  I for one am Thankful as they helped and changed t

TMNT Box #1

There a lot of Turtle fans out there that don’t have the time or money to just go out and collect everything that hit the shelves.  This does not mean that those fans do not want to get hands on cool TMNT stuff, it just says that some things slip away before they can jump into the action.  If you’re a fan who wants TMNT stuff, if you like surprises, and if you want to save money this is something for you.  This is the TMNT Box.

Rock the Half Shell

“Crime waves high with muggings mysterious, all police and detectives are furious.”  When I hear that line in a song I get very excited as it’s one of my favorite songs from my childhood.  “T U R T L E Power” from the first Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Movie.  This remains one of my favorite TMNT songs of all time, equal to only to the original TMNT cartoon series theme song.  This song is by Partners in Kryme, so my excitement when I found out that they were doing a new song in 2014 for Ninja Turtles had me excited.  First time I heard it was at the Epic Party, at that time we could not share the song.  Though now it is up and ready to be shared, the video here is “Rock the Half Shell”.

Sharing and Blogs

Everyone has something that makes them feel good inside.  Some know what makes them feel great, while others are still looking for that something.  From collections, being entertained, traveling, friends to sharing, most fans have more than one area they enjoy. It’s always fun to hear what each fan loves about their special interest.  This write up is about the passion behind Cowabunga Corner, and why it’s important to me to keep this site going.

As anyone who’s met me, seen this site, or heard about me knows I am a huge Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles fan.  This is my passion, the thing that makes me happy.  When asked about TMNT, my usual answer for why I am such a huge fan is because they taught me to read, defend myself and got me hundreds of fans around the world.  Those three answers are the roots of my fandom, and remain the same.  What makes me feel good inside though, is sharing.

TMNT 2014 Movie Fan Gatherings!

With the new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Film coming to theaters on August 8th, some fans are already planning parties and meet ups across the country.  This is something I highly encourage.  Having friends there to share the moving going experience with is a great way to see this film.  To help with this idea we have started up a topic on TMNT-L to help people find TMNT fan gatherings and if their area is not listed they can add it.

Turtle Talk #12 : Interview with me

One of the great things on the internet is when the fandom comes together.   Here on Cowabunga Corner I highly encourage people to check out the other TMNT blogs and forums out there as every site has something new and fun to share.  Here is one of these crossovers where the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles podcast “Turtle Talk” interviewed me for their blog.

In this interview I share my thoughts on a lot of different areas of TMNT.  Enjoying talking about the movies, cartoons and comics.  Also sharing some personal stories from my past and why I feel the way I do about different areas of Ninja Turtles.  This was a really fun interviews with a lot of great questions!
