Turtle Tracks

Hi. My name is Jen Selinsky, and I’ve been a fan of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles since 1990. For the next couple years, I found myself obsessed with the franchise. Primarily, there was the TV show. I also collected some of the action figures, plush toys, and trading cards. And though I wasn’t adamant that I had to have everything turtle related, those who knew me were also aware of my obsession.

As I merged into my adolescence, I became obsessed with other things, such as boys. I’d dated a few guys during junior high and high school; it became obvious that I’d abandoned my four reptilian friends for a sudden surge of hormones!

Kodak Moment #53

I got hundreds to thousands of photos through my life.  A lot of which would match up to stories here on Cowabunga Corner, but for one reason or another they are not chosen.  This does not mean that these photos are not worth sharing and do not hold stories of their own.  I would like to keep sharing what I can here on the site, so whenever I can I will share a photo and a story to go along with the photo.  If it’s a part of events that has been shared here, we will link back to the stories of the events themselves as well.  Hope everyone enjoys.  Today’s photo is Robbie Rist with

A World Record Event

On the morning of March 17th, 2012, I went to Mall of America with my youngest daughter, Michele, and two friends, Fugitoid and Tokka.  We woke early to get ready for this event for there was going to be a gathering at the mall to break the Guinness World Records, and we did.

Once we arrived, there a line already starting to form.  Probably 50 or more people had arrived before us.  To me time went fast.  I enjoyed seeing so many young families, many already dressed in some kind of Ninja Turtles type outfits.

Retiring a part of my TMNT History

In 1993, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles were still going strong in Michigan, with the third movie coming to theaters it was an exciting time.  By this point my family had been doing parties as the Party Turtle for two years. Though my costume began to look very worn out from age and me being over active in the suit, so it was time to make a new one.  The new costume was finished in less than a week, as it was worked on by my dad, mom and I.  We were happy to have it done on March 19th, the same day TMNT III came to the theaters.  19 years later, and that costume is now up for retirement.
